Plants & Compost
These plants can go into their final growing place without the trouble of sowing seeds. All plants are approved for use in organic systems and grown from organic seed (From the seed co-op and Tamar organics) in organic approved compost. They are the same varieties as we use, so proven to do well in the highlands & customer feedback has been very positive in previous years. Range through the season: most of the cabbage family, cucumbers, tomatoes, chillies, courgettes, salads, leeks, wild flowers, peas, beans, greens, celery, sweet corn. Keep an eye on the listings as not all available at the same time.
Cabbage, 1 plug with 1 seedlings grown from organic seed in organic approved compost. Eerstling is an early pointy head green cabbage.
Chard can be eaten like spinach but is much easier to grow! 1 plug containing 2 or more seedlings, colours depend on availability. Ready to plant under cover or can be hardened off after purchase for outdoor planting. Organic seed, organically approved compost.
Moorland Gold seed and cutting compost (40 litre bag) is suitable for use in seed and cutting propagation. Suitable for use in seed and module trays and as a blocking compost and provides an adequate supply of organic nutrients. Used by us for years & approved for use in organic systems by the Soil Association. Peat washes into dams and reservoirs & is periodically removed & used to make this compost, so no peat bog extraction occurs.

Kallete, 1 plug with 1 seedlings grown in organic approved compost. Kalettes are a cross between brussels sprouts and kale, the loose 'sprouts' are ready in winter.
Salad rocket, fast growing under cover in the spring and outside in summer, it tends to go to flower in mid summer but the flowers are edible in salad too. 1 plug with 2 or more seedlings grown from organic seed in organic approved compost.
